3. Formal Garden – The Van Vleck Rhododendrons:

  • Cedrus libani — Cedar of Lebanon

The formal perennial beds were completely replanted in 2004.

10. Upper Lawn – Historic site of 59 Upper Mountain Avenue, the Van Vleck’s Tudor style home with formal gardens.  The home was demolished in the 1960’s.
