Outdoor Adventures – Great Backyard Bird Count

Saturday, February 17th, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Great Backyard Bird Count is a global event that takes place from Friday, February 16 through Monday, February 19 (https://www.birdcount.org). Each year, volunteers tally the birds they see in backyards, parks, and natural areas. Stop by Van Vleck House & Gardens Saturday February 17th to join the birding fun and do your part as a citizen scientist to log local bird populations.

Our Van Vleck Education team will guide your family through this interactive learning experience. This program is entirely outdoors, weather dependent. Registration is required and includes everything you need to participate in the program. Designed for children ages 4 -11 but all are welcome.

Fee and registration links: FREE for Members of Van Vleck; $15 per family for Non-Members

Registration required by 1 day prior to each class.

ATTENTION SCOUTS: *Scout Troop Bird Count 

February 17th, 12:30pm – 1:30pm

We will aslo have specialized activities for Cub Scout and Junior Girl Scout troops to earn badges later in the afternoon. For more information about how to register a troop, please email kelsey@montclairfoundation.org.
