Popular local performer Tom Colao in The New World Quintet Jazz concert returns to our series.

The New World Quartet/Quintet is a well-rehearsed and polished jazz ensemble. The members include Tom Colao/alto saxophone, Russ Di Bona/drums, Heather Benet/piano, Tony Scally/guitar and Michael Topping/bass. The group was formed three years ago featuring local professional musicians who have performed with Billy Hart, Rufus Reid, Kenny Wheeler, David Schnitter, Oliver Lake, Chuck Mangione to mention a few. The members also perform and teach in the metro New York area and around the country.
The music performed is in the tradition of the jazz greats of the past and present. The New World has developed an enthusiastic following in the area. The group’s dedication and joy of the music is the catalyst in developing the band repertoire and sharing their creative improvised music. Their mission is to inspire others through jazz to find their creative spirit.

Van Vleck Members received the registration link before it opened to the public. Reservations are strongly suggested. However, there is generally some availability for those arriving without reservations.
