Our annual exclusive tour of amazing private gardens in the Montclair area will be Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st from 11AM – 4PM.  Tour Journals are the required ticket for entry to each garden and contain the addresses and details on each property. Journals can be picked up from 10AM – 4PM on Friday and 10AM – 3PM on Saturday. The gardens can each be toured once between 11AM – 4PM each day.

Tour tickets can be purchased at this link or via the QR code below by 5/30. The price will increase by $10 on Friday or Saturday of the tour and must be purchased at Van Vleck House. Credit cards or cash will be accepted.

UPDATE for 6/1: Please note for planning your tour route on Saturday, The Montclair African-American Heritage Foundation parade will be taking place through the streets outlined below. A few of the tour properties are near the south end of Montclair and one is in Glen Ridge so you might want to find some alternate streets to reach those locations.  We hope you enjoy the tour and the festival!
Parade Route
Join us at 10:30 am when the parade begins on the corner of Maple Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Then, the parade will turn left onto Bloomfield Avenue, headed towards Elm Street. Next, the parade will turn left on Elm Street and proceed to Orange Road. Once the parade reaches Cedar Avenue, it will pass Cedar Avenue the first time and veer right onto Orange Road towards the South End Gardens to visit our senior residents. The parade will then go around the bend, turning left onto Orange Road towards Cedar Avenue again. Finally, the parade will turn left onto Cedar Avenue, where the Grand Stand and Battle of the Bands will take place.

Immediately after the parade stops, there will be a Battle of the Bands between four New Jersey high school marching bands! The Festival will begin at 1:00 pm and will feature all of the community favorites, including food and merchandise vendors, a game truck, a family area with bouncy houses, and more!

Journal ads can be purchased HERE or at the QR code below by May 6th to support our fundraiser. Camera-ready art (jpeg or PDF format) or ad copy must be received by Monday, May 6, 2024. Contact us with any questions.
