Hailing from Dublin Ireland, Emer settled first in New York and then in Montclair New Jersey , a very long time ago. In her work life, she has been a bookkeeper, a banker, a needlepoint finisher, an accountant, a Chief Financial Officer and most importantly, a Mom. Emer has volunteered somewhere during most of her life in America, and over the years has been President of the Montclair-Newark Junior League, President of South End Day Care Center, and Day Nurseries, Inc.; Treasurer of several Agencies including the United Way; Trustee of Partners for Health, Bloomfield College, Youth Consultation Services and a member of the Mayor’s Committee on the Environment.
Emer is widowed, has three children and six grandchildren, at least half of the six have graduated from College. Her interests are gardening, travel, reading and being a strong volunteer in the community.
Emer has been involved with The Montclair Foundation for well over 20 years and plans to continue long after her term of Board Chair is completed.
