Annette Strickland April 14, 2022 by tagonline Annette Strickland, a forty-nine year resident of Montclair, has had a distinguished career in public service and philanthropy. She recently retired as executive director of the Schumann Fund for New Jersey, a private foundation that invests in policies and programs that advance the core values of community respect and racial and economic equity. Ms. Strickland has served in a variety of roles in state and county government including special assistant for community relations for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office during the tenure of Herbert H. Tate, Jr. She is a member of the Essex County Human Services Advisory Council and has been deeply involved in state and local efforts to reform New Jersey’s child welfare system. She is a certified early childhood teacher and holds a BA (cum laude) in Child Study from Tufts University. Ms. Strickland works to foster authentic relationship with community partners and has a steadfast belief in their power and resilience.
